Grammy award-winning singer Adele's latest album, 25, became available on Apple Music and competing streaming services at midnight last night, seven months after its initial release.

According to Billboard, the full album can also be found on Spotify, Amazon Prime and Tidal, following months in which only the singles "Hello", "Send My Love (To Your New Lover)", and "When We Were Young" could be found on music streaming platforms.

Sony released physical and digital copies of Adele's 25 in November, when it broke the single-week sales record in the U.S., shifting 3.38 million albums. The previous record was set by *NSYNC's No Strings Attached in 2000, which sold 2.42 million copies in its first week.

The move comes after reports in November last year suggested that Adele had personally chosen not to share the album on streaming music services.

That decision came after Taylor Swift initially refused to share her songs on streaming platforms that offered free tier listening services. Swift later took a stand against Apple when it emerged that the company didn't intend to pay artists during the Apple Music free trial period. But after the company reversed course, she too changed her mind and allowed Apple Music to stream 1989 and her other albums.

Ha changed their story huh??
Album must not be selling well, shes overrated and can't sell album like they thought now they have to resort to streaming online. Ha

She thought she was good enough not to offer it for sale the way all other artists do, what was she thinking??
Her album is like the best selling album for the past 10 years or some ridiculous mile stone. I'm sure this is because momentum has died down on sales so she's happy to stream.

I do. I'm listening to it now after reading this post. This website has always been a bit negative and somewhat cringey, but the depths of insecure and at the extremes negativity that pervades these forums over the last 12-24 months is just getting to much to read. I guess its following the way of modern media, politics and so on. At least I have a choice to not read this anymore, I suppose.
I posted on this site a lot in 2004-2006 or so and the community was a bit more polite back then.

It's a bit shocking seeing all the vitriol, people want want want and seem to take so little time to pause and think about what they actually need.

Sometimes sayings, although seemingly banal can help understand our selves and others.

I have to tell myself almost daily that "all suffering is created by desire"

I also have to tell myself almost daily to absolutely never make absolute statements about things.

Heh.

Anyway I continue to read this site despite all the negativity because there are still good insights and opinions being posted, and it helps me understand what other people are thinking, as I live a pretty "un plugged" life compared to most people.

I'm sure it was just a financial decision. It's had record sales up to now (http://www.forbes.com/sites/hughmcintyre/2016/01/10/adeles-25-has-now-sold-15-million-copies-worldwide/#38191a046e7f) and has sold more copies than there are Apple Music subscribers so her management team seems to know what they are doing.
