Apple today uploaded three short 15 second ads in its "The Rock x Siri" series, with content that's primarily been pulled from the main three minute "The Rock x Siri Dominate the Day" video, which was originally released on July 23.

Each video features The Rock interacting with Siri to set a reminder, take a selfie, and set a timer. The reminder video is new, while the selfie and timer videos feature scenes from the original spot.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson originally teased his partnership with Apple and Siri as a movie, complete with a movie poster, but it turned out that instead of a short film, his feature with Apple was simply an ad spot.

"I partnered with #Apple to make the BIGGEST, COOLEST, CRAZIEST, DOPEST, MOST OVER THE TOP, FUNNEST (is that even a word?) movie ever," The Rock wrote on Facebook ahead of the ad's launch.

Apple is using The Rock to show off the range of tasks that can be completed using the Siri personal assistant built in to the iPhone and the iPad. "You should never, ever, under any circumstances underestimate how much Dwayne Johnson can get done in a day with Siri," reads the description for the first video.

Everyone is so fast to criticize Siri, I was unaware every member at macrumors was a software dev with their own, superior, AI.

Siri does what it does. Hating on it doesn't make it do more.

I use Siri to set alarms, for me, that's all I need in an assistant.

If I want to turn the sprinklers on, I go turn them on.
Let's go back just a decade. :)

I use my mobile phone to make calls, for me that's all I need in a phone.

If I want to play games, write an e-mail, check my calendar, surf the internet, do my banking, I go sit in a chair and do it on my desktop at home or at my work computer.

Siri has been out for an entire 6 years in Oct. It's advanced very poorly... in my armchair dev opinion of course. :D

Take the celebrity bit out of it and you're left with showing off tech that's years old: set a reminder, take a picture(okay, they got me there, new to me that one) and lastly set a timer.

Wish they actually showed off something impressive... but it's Siri so that's just not possible yet I guess.

Hating on it is literally what will make it do more.

We hated on how Apple wasn't treating it's pro consumers right and they publicly announced they'd change that with a better Mac Pro coming soon.

Plus, we can see from Google Assistant that it is absolutely possible that it could be better.

Concrete examples as to why Alexa and google now are better please.
Here's a good comparison video. They can both do a lot of things just fine. One of the biggest issues though, is that Google seems to more consistently find the answer to a question while Siri might just google it and show "results from the web." Another big thing is that Siri is rarely conversational. It often won't remember what you just asked, whereas Google Assistant does. These are seen at 2:24 in the video.
