Enabling WiFi on your Smart TV is ludicrous. Google and the TV manufacturer track everything.

Just hook up an Apple TV and have piece of mind

Guess this is good for people who don't have an Apple TV device but I don't know anyone would use this over an Apple TV if you had the choice. My Sony OLED looks great but the user interface is slow and clunky so we never use it.
Couldn't agree more (also a Sony OLED owner myself). Why would anyone want to use the built-in garbage Android interface when you can have an amazing Apple TV device that does everything better? I use Apple TV as my 1 source device for everything I watch.

No love for my Sony X900F...still a great TV and not upgrading a TV until every HDMI port is 2.1 and supports adaptive sync.
X900F got Android 9 Pie in Latam not too long ago, the TV is now faster, so thats great. Other Regions should receive the update this year.

Does anyone know if Apple TV apps on third-party TV's like this just allow you to watch your Apple/iTunes content and channels, or does it also show your whole "Up Next" list from HBO, Hulu, etc? Not sure if the Apple TV app could launch a Hulu app on a TV (like it does on the Apple TV device), but even if it just showed your full Up Next list, that would be a nice start. Apple TV 4K devices are so expensive...

Yeah and this is why TVs are miraculously so cheap compared to 10 years ago. No way am I risking a bricked TV though by hooking it up to the internet. Separate box please.
