I’m sorry but I’m not going to pay over $1000 for a device I can’t use for anything more than a glorified Instagram machine. Open it up and let users put VMs on it then we’ll talk. But now it’s like putting a governor on a porch engine and not allowing it to go over 55.

who ever buys those stupid ipad pros?
I do, iPad Pro 12.9” 256GB M1. Been great and trusty to date.

Amazing how powerful the M2 iPads are. My 2012 Mac mini struggles to convert a slideshow to a video and maxes out at 1080p. It takes a vary long time (hour or more) to output a 19 minute video of a slideshow. My M2 iPad makes a 4k version of the slideshow in about 10 minutes as I recall. The slideshow contains a lot of high resolution photos so it is cool to see them on a big 4k screen. It isn't a masterpiece viral video but it brings back great memories of a trip with my Elle..

Yeah! It has become my permanent extended screen + Wacom style screen while working with a “too many screens” desktop or sometimes I just have secondary apps (outlook, teams, Slack, etc) so that they don’t bother with a single CPU cycle my desktop (Teams can hog several gigabytes of RAM at times, can you believe that, for a freaking chat app and the worst one at that)
On the weekends it’s the perfect tutorials, podcasts, “quick episode of something” machine.

I can’t even fathom buying anything but the base configuration of an iPad pro… why would you even need that much local storage. Almost all uses for an iPad involve cloud storage apps
I got a 256GB version which I kinda regretted because of the 2TB iCloud provided by Apple One… however, once it’s start to be used with Affinity Photo/Designer, procreate, getting videos, saving tutorials (example, Gumroad is not as advanced as YouTube, sometimes it’s better to save them), etc I can see the use case for at least more than 64GB. Not too sure about 1TB though except that it doubles the RAM.
