Starting with the 256GB 13-inch MacBook Pro, this model has hit $1,149.00 on Amazon, down from $1,299.00. Compared to past sales, this is a second-best price on the computer. It's been months since we've seen all-time lows on this computer, so this is still a great markdown on the 2022 MacBook Pro.

A very popular product and good seller that commenters on the internet don't understand why it exists. Perhaps the problem is not the product, but that commenters on the internet don't understand business or markets very well at all.

They must have a ton of Touch Bar panels still in stock. One can only imagine that this MacBook is still in production simply to use up all the remaining parts and components. Otherwise, I just don't get it.

Ha ok fair enough, who am I to tell people what they should like. Can I ask what about that in particular appeals to you? Is it the Touch Bar?
I just don’t have the needs or budget for a fancy 16” or even 14” MacBook Pro as the line stands now, but I don’t want my next MacBook to throttle like my Air if I want to do something more taxing. The 13” Pro is Goldilocks material for people like me. Not too decked-out and somewhat accessible, but still performative and relatively “future-proof” (whatever that means). Apple are masters of the upsell, but having various price points is of some benefit to consumers as well.

It doesn’t make sense if you’re aware of the other options on the market or of what you actually want out of a computer.

They are very popular with regular users because all they see is that it’s the cheapest MacBook Pro. Pretty sure that’s the beginning and end of its success.

So really both reasons are correct. People that understand computers don’t get it because it’s not about the computer it’s about the marketing.
Welp, guess I don’t “understand computers” then because I’ve been daydreaming about a 13” M3 MacBook Pro ?
