iOS 26 is Compatible With the iPhone 11 and Newer

Apple today revealed that iOS 26 is compatible with the iPhone 11 series and newer.

  • iPhone 16 Pro Max
  • iPhone 15
  • iPhone 15 Plus
  • iPhone 15 Pro
  • iPhone 15 Pro Max
  • iPhone 14
  • iPhone 14 Plus
  • iPhone 14 Pro
  • iPhone 14 Pro Max
  • iPhone 13
  • iPhone 13 mini
  • iPhone 13 Pro
  • iPhone 13 Pro Max
  • iPhone 12
  • iPhone 12 mini
  • iPhone 12 Pro
  • iPhone 12 Pro Max
  • iPhone 11
  • iPhone 11 Pro
  • iPhone 11 Pro Max
  • iPhone SE (2nd generation and later)

Of course, iOS 26 will also be compatible with all future iPhone 17 models.

This means that iOS 18 is the final software version that supports the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR, although those devices will continue to receive important security updates from Apple for at least a few more years.

iOS 26 features an all-new Liquid Glass design and so much more.

The first iOS 26 developer beta is available starting today, and a public beta will be available next month, according to Apple.

And once again, Apple is arbitrarily dropping devices , this supports iPads with the same processor and less ram (iPad 8 with 3gb of ram) but not the XS with 4GB.

Pretty fair outcome for legacy phone users, to be fair.
If they had kept support for the XS and Xr I would agree, however since they are supporting lesser specced iPads with iPadOS 26, then not overly fair imho.

Yes the XS is getting on, but phone support cycles should be getting longer, not stagnating/decreasing as we’ve seen in recent years.
